Suncoast Psychology aim is to help you to address challenges, increase resilience, and achieve your personal goals.
We believe that all Australians deserve professional and confidential psychological and counselling services.
These services should not be dependent on your location but rather use technology to assist in providing this service.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through good psychological and counselling practise, we are able to help you to treat, recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief, healing, and empowerment.
Relationships can be difficult at times. Interpersonal conflict with our loved ones or within the work environment is part of a healthy and meaningful relationship. These challenges create a normal emotional response but sometime people can become stuck in an emotional response and the message we are trying to communicate gets lost. We can help you to understand these emotions, realise that this is normal, and help you to communicate more effectively.
Grief is the natural emotional response to the loss of someone or something. Grief can also occur after a serious illness, a divorce or other significant life adjustment. Grief is a process or journey that affects everyone differently. It can be exhausting and emotionally draining. Grief has no set pattern. It is expressed differently. Most people find the grief lessens with time but sometimes we can become stuck in our loss. We can help to explore your grief, adjust to your loss, and plan for a new future.
Body image and weight management are two very distinct yet interlinked factors. Body image is how you think and feel about your physical self, whilst weight management concerns issues of being over or under weight compared to the population. However, how we think and feel about our physical self often manifests in issues of being under or over weight. We can help you to understand, challenge, and change your personal beliefs to plan, attain, and maintain your personal body goals.
Wellbeing is not just the absence of disease or illness. It’s a complex combination of a your physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. In short, wellbeing could be described as how you feel about yourself and your life. Wellbeing is one of the most important factors in our life, providing a base to either grow in a positive or negative direction. We can work with you to improve wellbeing and create opportunity to grow in a positive direction.
Suncoast Psychology supports individuals who have suffered a workplace incident that is covered under WorkSafe QLD. Being injured in the workplace, recovering from a workplace injury, and returning to employment can be incredibly challenging and can create its own distress. Knowing your options, the steps to take, and who’s responsible for what, will make the rehabilitation and return to work journey easier, meaning you can get on with your life sooner. Suncoast Psychology has extensive experience in helping individuals to navigate and get the best outcomes from the WorkSafe process.
Suncoast Psychology supports individuals referred under a MHCP or DVA, you will need to visit your GP. A review from your GP is required, this will then allow you to access additional sessions.
Suncoast Psychology supports individuals referred under Private Insurance. Please check with your private health provider to see if you have covered for psychology.

Suncoast Psychology is not a registered provider with the NDIA and are therefore not regulated by its provider policies. However, the NDIA can approve the use of funds for clients accessing psychological services if your plan is approved through a “Self-Managed” or “Registered Plan Provider” process. Please note that it is NOT possible to use your NDIS funds for psychological services if you have an “Agency Managed” (NDIA) plan. We require payment for the psychological consultation at time of booking. Payment of fees is the responsibility of the client – the client must arrange their own reimbursement of funds with the NDIA or Registered Plan Provider
Suncoast Psychology specialises in providing psychological therapy services throughout Australia from our Buderim office. Where available, we also support clients to access subsidised services. This means we support clients with Primary Health Network funding. Please speak to your GP to see if you meet the required criteria. For all other general appointments, full payment is required within 24hrs of the appointment. The following week, Suncoast Psychology will email your paid invoice for your Medicare/Private Health Insurance claim. If receipts are required earlier, please talk to your therapist.
If you cancel within 24hrs of your appointment, 100% of your fee is required, We will do our best to get someone from our wait list to take your session over, no matter when you cancel. If we can do this, we will rebate 100% of your fee. All cancellations must be emailed to: reception@suncoastpsychology.com.au
Why the refund policy? A 50-minute time slot has been reserved especially for you. A cancelled appointment is a loss to three people: The client who is delaying their therapy progress. Another client who has been sitting on the waiting list to see the psychologist urgently. The psychologist who spent time and effort preparing for the session.

Hudson is my long suffering (because he puts up with Lee) rescue greyhound. Hudson's greatest clinical skills is that he can listen all day and not be judgemental. Hudson loves to be cuddled and can spend long periods of time asleep (or pretending to be) yet is always alert to the rustle of a Schmackos bag. An interesting thing about Hudson is that he is TERRIFIED of puppies. "It's only a problem if you think it's a problem"
